If you are a royal history buff and you find yourself in London over the next few months, you will be spoilt for choice for exhibitions.

Cartier at the Victoria and Albert Museum is one of the biggest exhibitions of the year. It includes over 350 pieces spanning the firm’s impressive history. Eagle-eyed fans will spot the Williamson Brooch, a stunning brooch with a 23.6 pink carat diamond that belonged to the late Queen.

Opening in late September, the V&A will also be hosting the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition. Sponsored by Manolo Blahnik, it is the first UK exhibition to cover the tragic French queen in detail; over 250 objects will be on display, including a pair of her slippers.

The Edwardians: Age of Elegance is one of the Royal Collection’s largest exhibitions. Focusing on King Edward VII, Queen Alexandra, King George V, and Queen Mary, a visit to the King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace is a must.

The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara is on display, a piece that Queen Elizabeth wore frequently throughout her seven decade reign. The very impressive Delhi Durbar Tiara is also included, as is Queen Alexandra’s 1902 coronation gown.

Only open until 21 September, go-to royal photographer Cecil Beaton is being featured in the summer exhibition at the Garden Museum. Cecil Beaton’s Garden Party explores the role of flowers in Beaton’s photography and design career, something you see frequently in his royal portraits.
