Georgia, who is a model, eventually gave Danny a chance – and the couple have now been married for 10 years.

But a video emerged this week of Danny, of Bolton, Greater Manchester, kissing TV personality Maura Higgins at a BRITS after party. He has been condemned by fans, who expressed their ire on social media.

Georgia, who has a seven-year-old son with the McFly star, is yet to publically address the scandal but comments she made in a podcast last year have now resurfaced amid the saga.

The model, who has won Miss England, conceded she first thought Danny “was a bit of a d*ck” and she “didn’t really like him” at the start. However, in a ruthless three-word description, she also said the singer would be “a top shagger” because she felt he fitted the “musician stereotype”.

Their first interactions were in 2008, by which time McFly were at the peak of their fame and had seven UK number ones. Yet Georgia, 38, didn’t agree to a date until 2009, she told the Never Have I Ever Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper podcast in November last year.

“I was totally chilled when we went on the date. I didn’t really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself,’” Georgia, from York, told the podcast.

“I said ‘he’s probably going to be a bit of a top shagger, isn’t he?’ I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen – without realising.”

And, in 2013, Danny and Georgia got engaged, tying the knot in North Yorkshire the following year. Georgia gave birth to Cooper seven years ago.

But Danny’s kiss with Maura, with whom he was in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! last year, has caused a stir across social media. One of Danny’s fans commented: “Then he went and cheated on his wife.” Another echoed: “Wtf Danny. You are married with a child. Fans are meant to respect you but how can they when you don’t even respect yourself.”

Maura, 34, who has recently split from The Only Way is Essex personality Pete Wicks, also faced an Instagram backlash. Fans expressed their disappointment at the star, who was in Love Island in 2019.
