By now, we shouldn’t be surprised by anything that comes out of Drew’s mouth on General Hospital, right? He’s sunk to lows that are so low, he has to look up to see hell. (Here’s the proof.) But he nevertheless caught us off guard in the August 13 episode, saying things that were vile enough to get him killed — and we know just who’s going to do it, too: Alexis!
Why Would Alexis Kill Drew?
Like pretty much everyone in Port Charles, Alexis carries around in her purse an I Hate Drew Club membership card. However, she’d never hurt granddaughter Scout’s father; that, by extension, would hurt the little girl who’s already lost mom Sam.
Sorry, correction: Alexis never would have hurt Drew. But after their face-off in the August 13 episode, all bets are off. As Drew ordered Danny arrested for taking his little sister to the Quartermaines’ without permission, Alexis suggested that that would be the last thing that Sam would want.
Drew’s horrific response? “What she’d want or not want doesn’t matter,” he spat, digging his own grave in the process, “because she’s not here and I am.” Them’s not fightin’ words, buddy, them’s killin’ words!
What Will Push Alexis Over the Edge?
Alexis might have been able to keep it together, even in the face of such ugliness. But Drew, never having known when to leave awful enough alone, just had to go a step further. He told Alexis that henceforth, Scout would be cut off from all those who seek to undermine him. In other words, Sam’s daughter “will have no more contact with you, with Danny or with anyone else from your family.”
You could see it in Alexis’ tear-stained eyes. She snapped. Any day now, she’s going to take out Helena’s dagger and put it to far better use than the Cassadines’ murderous matriarch did and take a stab at ridding Port Charles of Drew for good. Scout will be heartbroken, of course. But in Alexis’ mind, better for her granddaughter to lose a second parent than to be raised by the monster that is Drew. (Then again, Alexis may have to stand in line behind these other possible perps in a “Who killed Drew?” murder mystery to take out the scourge of Port Charles.)
